![]() We've had quite the mud season here at BITS... it looks like we're over the worst of it, but we still have a little way to go until it's all gone. The riding arena can be partially used - yay! The horses are kicking up their heels with the fresh air and sunshine. And... as you can see, Gideon has found a non-muddy spot. We all think he looks rather handsome with the daffodils!

Here it is, the middle of February, and we've been getting socked with so much snow, cold, and sub-zero wind chills! Even so, it can be beautiful, can't it?
![]() Our dear Hurango officially retired last week. He has served us well over the years and all of us will miss him. So many fond attachments ("He's my favorite horse!") were created, and his super smooth Paso gaite provided uncertain riders confidence in themselves. Hurango was also the recipient of many hugs and thanks for his quiet acceptance. Some time this week he will go to live (not too far away) with a young boy who will love him and spoil him with treats... not a bad life! Hurango certainly deserves such a home in his retirement years, and we wish him all the best. ![]() Mud season has been spectacular this spring, and this week promises more rain. Even so, the temperatures (the meteorologists promise) will be warmer, and the sun will come out. The horses are happy to take of their winter blankets and are eager to eat the spring grass in the fields. There's much spring cleaning to do and are grateful for the volunteer groups coming to help out. We're looking forward to having a Girl Scout troop come help blaze a new trail for riders and a school group to clean and freshen up the dome. Happy Spring! ![]() Here's a photo of Babe in his winter finery! We are offering these Christmas cards with 12 chances of winning up to $500 during the month of January!
