We all hope everyone stayed safe while Hurricane Sandy blew through New Jersey yesterday - an amazing storm with incredible reach! We felt the winds and rain here in New Hampshire, but we weathered the storm in fine style. Thanks need to go out to the volunteers who helped to anchor down the dome's roof that was sliding even more from the July microburst that hit us.
We've recently added this GREAT and EASY way for everyone to help support BITS ETC's mission... as they say, "If it's on your mind, it's on eBay." This link on the left will take you to items sellers have for sale to benefit BITS.
By clicking on the logo on the right, you can SELL your items that will benefit BITS. For more information on buying and selling through eBay for our benefit, please go to our SUPPORT BITS page. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Many thanks to all the volunteers and donors - and attendees! - of this year's fundraiser for BITS. Millbrook Gallery was a perfect backdrop for the beautiful evening, and we all enjoyed the music, food (we ate... perhaps a little too much), and some of us went home with some wonderful donations! We couldn't have done it without ALL of you. Cheers!
Our annual fundraiser at the Millbrook Gallery in Concord, NH August 25th is coming fast! Many local businesses and friends have been very generous by donating items for our silent auction. Each day some of them will be acknowledged on our Facebook page... "Like" us and you'll see them all!
A generous, unexpected donation for scholarship aid is allowing BITS ETC to offer sliding scale lessons for up to 20 riders this summer. Lesson fees will be from $15-$30 per hour, depending on income available NOW. This is a first come, first served opportunity, with priority given to those on the Autism Spectrum, or Veterans returning from Iraq or Afghanistan, or first responders (Fire, Police, or Rescue workers for our Weekend Warrior's Programs). Please call the BITS ETC office at 603-746-5681. Medical Clearance required to ride, and restrictions apply. A downloadable application/registration form can be found on our "Contact Us" page. Please let us help you get back in the saddle an onto life's happy trails!!
The micro-burst that hit BITS two days ago created a massive mess! Here is our first hearty volunteer who hacked and chopped tirelessly with an ax. Two trees in front of him blocked passage to the pond. These weren't the only blockages, and about 20 people showed up yesterday with chain saws and muscle power, and we are most grateful to all of you. THANK YOU! We've a long road ahead of us...
As we endeavor to enter the 21st century (a little late, perhaps), this blog will keep you updated on all the happenings here at BITS. We're very excited about our new website, and you can be sure it will be a constant work in progress for a while. Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome and we hope you will visit on a regular basis to see all that's happening!
Mystique hopes you'll leave some messages for her. She doesn't quite 'get it' about Blogs, but she loves all the attention she can get!
